Registration for the course, Program Planning and Evaluation, is now open. One of the courses making up the Building Futures – Strategic Skills for Library Management Certificate offered through Royal Roads University Professional & Continuing Studies, this course is open to all staff working in libraries in BC. Join learners from libraries across the province in a course designed to build increased capacity to monitor and evaluate programs using the processes of stakeholder engagement, inquiry reflection and action to operate and optimise program performance.

Topics include:

  • Defining Program Evaluation and Principles – purpose, principles, processes, types and steps;
  • Preparation – purpose, context, engagement of stakeholders, logic models, questions and methods;
  • Design and Implementation of the Evaluation – responsibilities, data gathering, analysis and synthesizing; and
  • Learning, Reflecting, Reporting and Monitoring Strategies – communicating results, project management.

This online course is 4 weeks in length with approximately 4-6 hours of study per week including readings and optional webinars. There are no examinations. Estimated weekly commitment may vary depending on learning style and interest. This course is asynchronous with synchronous individual and group work expected throughout, as well as a need to keep pace with the course as it progresses week to week.

While the value for the course is $495 (incl. GST), staff working in libraries in BC pay $235 (incl. GST). This online course will run from October 29 to November 23, 2018. For more information about the course and for details on how to register, please contact nissa.2bell@royalroads.ca
